As a Technical Artist with Unity and VR experience, you will play a key role in developing and optimizing art assets for our mobile and VR games. You’ll collaborate with artists, designers, and developers to ensure that the game’s art meets both visual and technical standards while delivering a smooth and immersive experience. Your deep understanding of Unity’s rendering pipeline, VR-specific requirements, and optimization techniques will help ensure that our games perform beautifully on all platforms, including mobile and VR headsets.

Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the art and Unity development teams to ensure the visual quality of our games is optimized for both mobile and VR platforms.
• Optimize art assets (models, textures, shaders) for Unity-based VR and mobile environments, ensuring the best performance, fidelity, and user experience.
• Implement and refine materials, shaders (Shader Graph & HLSL), lighting, and special effects within Unity for both VR and mobile.
• Develop tools, scripts, and workflows to improve the efficiency and quality of art asset creation in Unity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Unity-related technical issues related to asset creation, integration, and performance, especially for VR environments.
• Collaborate with designers to ensure Unity’s VR interaction system (e.g., player movement, spatial awareness, and UI) aligns with the game’s artistic vision.
• Optimize Unity scenes, assets, and rendering settings to meet performance requirements across mobile and VR devices.
• Assist in creating and maintaining a Unity-based art pipeline that ensures consistency and efficiency across projects.
• Stay updated on the latest Unity VR development techniques, performance best practices, and hardware advancements to continually improve processes.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Technical Artist in Unity, with a strong portfolio showcasing both mobile and VR game projects.
• Deep understanding of Unity’s rendering pipeline, URP/HDRP, shaders, and materials for VR and mobile.
• Experience with VR-specific optimization techniques in Unity, including asset optimization, LODs, batching, and performance profiling (Profiler, Frame Debugger).
• Strong proficiency with 3D modeling software (Maya, Blender, etc.), texture mapping, and material creation tools.
• Experience writing C# scripts to automate tasks, optimize pipelines, or create custom Unity tools.
• Solid understanding of animation systems in Unity (Animator, Rigging, IK) and their application in VR projects.
• Familiarity with mobile optimization for Unity, ensuring smooth performance across different devices.
• Experience with asset management, version control systems (Git, Perforce), and Unity package management.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with both technical and creative teams.
• A passion for kids' gaming and creating engaging, interactive experiences in Unity.
Bonus Points:
• Experience with VR interaction design in Unity, including hand tracking, physics-based interactions, and haptic feedback.
• Experience creating custom shaders and visual effects for mobile or VR in Unity.
• Background in art and design, with a passion for children’s entertainment and gaming.
• Knowledge of Unity’s animation and rigging tools for VR characters
